Nancy Darrah
What is your role at Laura of Pembroke?
Part time Sales Associate
Before working at Laura of Pembroke, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Out of college I worked as a Graphic Designer at Canton Art Service and at Roadway Express in their Graphics Department. I am a freelance artist to this day. I loved being a long term substitute teacher for Canton City Schools for fifteen years. The kindergarteners especially were adorable yet quite unpredictable! I did get sick of tying shoes I have to say, but their observations at times were so funny.
If you could switch jobs with anyone at LOP, whose job would you want?
I am pretty happy doing what I do. Yes, like Lori stated, Eloise and Beatrice have the prime positions.
What do you like most about working at LOP?
It is fun coming to work three days a week and helping clients, talking to old friends and meeting new ones, but especially I love the LOP Team! Such a great group!
How many years have you worked at LOP?
I have been at LOP for almost four years.
What is your all time favorite LOP purchase?
I love my quirky bedroom lamps with the taupe "Mad Hatter" shades. Also, the bow frames are all over my house. Gorgeous!
Best vacation you’ve been to?
Family vacation to France and Italy in 2013. We were so fortunate to have Deborah and Terry Thomas guide us through Paris. Lori, you might be next! Also, our son's 2011 wedding in Brazil was a once in a lifetime event. We and twenty five other family members went on the Honeymoon!
Do you have a favorite quote?
Live Each Day As If It Was Your Last
Favorite travel spot?
We take a family vacation each year to St. Simon's Island, GA.
What book did you read last?
My Book Club is reading Circling the Sun by Paula McLain.
What do you like to do on your days off?
I usually have an art project or a watercolor painting to complete. When the weather is nice I am always in the yard mowing ( yes, I love to mow), or working in the yard and tending to my flowers. I love being outside! I am a walker and enjoy working out. I travel to Columbus every other week and to Chicago often visiting grand babies.
Where is your hometown?
At fourteen my family moved from a small town called Beverly, Ohio to Canton. I consider them both my hometown.
Where would you like to travel to?
Buy me a ticket.....I am ready for an adventure!
